What is CBC Isolate?
CBC isolate, or cannabichromene isolate, is one of four major cannabinoids in Cannabis sativa L and is the second most abundant cannabinoid in cannabis. CBC is a racemic mixture. It has two stereoisomers. CBC is not active at CB1 or CB2 receptors. It is an amber to orangish-red oil that will not crystallize. It’s perfect for rounding out entourage effects in oil formulations or for thinning purposes instead of using cutting agents. Our CBC Oil is >98% pure.
Effects of CBC Isolate
CBC (Cannabichromene) is a non-psychoactive compound that stems from Cannabigerol, which is also considered the mother of all cannabinoids. From CBGa (cannabigerolic acid), it is converted into CBCa (cannabichromene carboxylic acid), which further passes through decarboxylation to form CBC. CBC has been explored for use as:
- Antibacterial
- Acne medication
- Bone growth stimulation
- Antidepressant
Like CBD, CBC inhibits nociceptive signaling – the mechanisms that control pain arising from physical injuries. Subsequently, the compound has been validated in reducing inflammation-induced hyper-motility in the gastrointestinal tract.
